Into a new year

A week flew by. Every day filled with social engagements and coffee. Lots of coffee. We sold all our Wanderlust aprons, and Coco is bringing me the rest from Cluj. We shared about our experience with the refugees in church, and in my usual way, I had no idea exactly what I’m going to share until standing up and a short story unfolded. I blame my school upbringing. Out of the blue we would be called on to share by heart: definitions, formulas, literary commentaries etc.

We played games, went for hikes, visited friends at home and watched their much grown (in a year) children play. We spread the gifts we were commissioned to deliver, and forgot about the clock and the phone. On the last day of the year we went for a long hike, and the sun, the air, and colors were all heavenly.

For the first time in a very long time we didn’t sleep though the new year crossing. We were invited to a party where the guests were all dressed in the 20s fashion and ate food made famous during that time. I had a blast. Did not worry about socializing with everyone so the evening just unfolded smoothing, catching up or having interesting conversations with new people.

But the first day of the year was spent with my Apple buddies. First things first, coffee and catching up with Kevin, then I visited LG to applaud my first mentor Mike, as he exited the store for the last time as part of that team, as he is transferring to SF. It was a delightful visit. After all, in that store I had spent thousands of hours, grown and made many-many lifetime friends.
