The girls cling onto me
Because I correct them
Because I comfort them 
Because I don’t shy away from difficult situations 

The moment daddy stepped in to correct and serve their needs,
I saw their respect and affection grow for him. Instantly.

I don’t seek their dependency 
Or adoration 
I am a speaker of truth and I am more concerned with their education, manners and rounded life skills. Their growing in Faith. Their emotional acuity.  

As life wound have it,
I’m an introvert 
Yet
They gravitate towards me
Because I’m their leader
And I’m a good boss 
They trust me and feel safe with me.

Every day I fly by the seat of my pants 
And I pray for a healthy mind and spirit 
So that what comes out 
Of my mouth and actions 
would reflect the God that dwells in me.
