“You give me what I want”

I asked J. why she loves daddy: she had a long list for him. It was sweet to hear her recount them. As I kept prompting her to add to it she said “that’s enough!” with a side of eye rolling 🙄

Later on I asked her why she loves mommy (the answers are all on voice memos). She simply said: “I love you so much mommy because you do what I want and because I have your heart”.

I thought to myself: man! I do what she wants? Am I a pushover? I didn’t think I was.

But then I remembered my own dad. I didn’t ask for many things but whenever I did, he gave me or he did for me. And I felt so loved and powerful because when I needed something, dad followed through.
