Porcelain

Porcelain

Out of tears and ashes

I hear you. I see you.

My cup emptied

I feel weightless

As I stand in front of you

Witnessing your storm

I did not know

How releasing my “poems of waiting”

Will rewrite my DNA

It will ready me

To be your helper

Your strong ally

In the face of change and loss.

The weight of the world on your shoulders

Is crushing

With every day that passes

Harder to breath, to rest, to feel joy

Instead feeling deeper

A storm of fears.

Powerlessness.

You obeyed God’s command

And loved me sacrificially

Tenderly. Committed.

With everything you are.

I have flourished in your care.

I serve you with courage and strength

Not of my own doing

But due to our resting in God

The One I see so clearly.

His wings uplift us,

Covering us.

Your vulnerability

Honors me.

And I am not afraid.

I stand with you

Surprised by clarity,

The warmth I feel toward you.

The fragility

Your porcelain offering

Your giving up control

Brings you closer to Abba

For a clearer vantage point

It’s your journey

joining me

In this sweet abandonment

Into our Father’s care.
