She comes home today! We got the call yesterday from her social worker that the court had finished the paperwork to have her move in with us permanently in view of the final adoption in three months (what a call to get on Thanksgiving!). One last drive to the foster family to pick her up and say goodbye.
As happy a day this is for us, I can’t help but feel empathy for the wonderful couple who cared for her for the last two years. They are truly special people and we will keep them in our lives as an extension of our family. We feel lucky to know them.
