An honest X-ray of the relationship
Awakened to what meets the eye
Beauty. Restraint. Lust.
Not knowing quite what to do with this assault of imagery
Beauty perceived
Rushed into the brain
Making camp
Small at first but taking over
Teenage brain unguarded
Curious and hungry
Go back to simple things
Cars and superficial conversations
Basic knowledge of the other
Distance and rest
She pushed him away
I’d be curious of the inner dialogue
Something set her off
Besides his flakiness
If this is something he can’t change
It will change her and not for the better
Waiting for him to show up
And him never succeeding
It is not who she is
It may not be the right time for such a friendship
Though it could have been
In their innocence
Taking things slow
Slow like molasses
Savoring the present
The gift of each other.
