There is a very fine line between wondering if you’re doing enough, and all of a sudden overdoing it or doing too much. March is around the corner, and I am starting to think of one of the main reasons we moved here.
As for wanderlust.coffee we reached an important milestone this week: received the shipment and issued the first invoice and first receipt. I am still fine-tuning the accounting side of the business. Never a dull moment – I’m still learning a lot.
This week we also bought a car, a VW Golf 4 with amazing gas consumption; the last large necessary purchase. We have spent a lot more money that we made this past quarter, investing and building and creating. And I take comfort in the fact that we had plan and we knew what we were getting ourselves into. Budgeting can keep one sane.
The downpayment for the women’s conference is paid. Still looking for a spot for the youth conference in August, but for that I have a team of partners in planning.
I get so wrapped up in doing and multitasking and juggling 10 different balls in the air, that I forget to enjoy the moment.
Last night though, we went out to Phil’s, a new place where two delicious beers and a Cosmopolitan costed us only 8 bucks total. Parking was easy and the staff was friendly and inviting – and the place quite chic.
Then we went on a date to the classic movie theater and saw The Imitation game. What a great movie. It helped me disconnect and truly rest my mind. It made me feel like a little girl, out on a first movie date, in the college town I dreamt of dates.
As we were driving back past 10 pm, 4 km into the suburbs, in a smooth ride, I got transported back in time, driving back from San Francisco, or from Santa Cruz.
