Life happens all around us, it’s just a matter of being observant. I finished reading a great book called “when life and belief collide”. While reading it I had so many epiphanies regarding our recent decisions, and clarity to share, but it still takes energy to give them a digestible context. I’m sure I’ll revisit.
We are waiting for our flight back from New York to California. Opa’s memorial was such a rich family gathering. The way I feel about death is admittedly unusual. The more bravely you acknowledge its imminence, the more determined you are to live fully the life you get right now.
I had a few very inspiring conversations with uncle Conny’s family. What an unusual gift of joy to share our outlook on life with people I seem to have known forever.
I just started reading a new book: “a million little ways” and this one too appears to have been written just for me, to read during this season. We are all meant to make art, if not through the classic performing arts, then through whatever we enjoy doing or makes us come alive: cooking, listening, writing, speaking… and not disregard or burry our gifts. Our first and foremost calling is to discover who we truly are. I am grateful for all the painful circumstances that helped me emerge.
I wish I could bring everyone on the journey of our decisions, the courage that overcomes the fears of “what if”, the determination to take initiative and run with it. We see and feel in a unique way, we are different and we know it.
We bought our one way tickets to Romania. We fly December 2nd.
