It was a natural visit, as we’ve met with these two ladies quite a few time this month. They are positive, kind and polite. Nonetheless, the process of painting a picture of who we are, from all vantage points, and who our family is, how do they feel about adoption, who forms our support system, what do our friends believe about us, and all the specific details about our apartment … And thus, another layer was added to the picture of our lives and who we are.

I’m exhausted four hours later.

But we now have a better understanding of the next steps of the adoption as well. It’s like training to climb the Everest. The training itself, without the adrenaline kicking in, is painful and daunting. But it’s all purposeful and I look forward to the next vista.
