Jackie spent time with random adults throughout our time in Croatia. Some could communicate with her, others inspired her to brush up on her english and actually use it.
She would talk people’s ears off about her dog, about her favorite color, toys, stories… And the adults played along. They played hide-and-seek, ate together, drew together, went to the park, went fruit shopping at the local market, went berry-picking. So many memories. So much love.

She fell asleep and our friends took turns carrying her as a baby. And the weight of her little body was sweet. Thank you friends for your labour of love.

Jackie preferred the company of grownups, and made many friends, but occasionally she would hangout with slightly older and younger kids, preferably boys, and she would gently touch their shoulder, or caress their cheek, or give the little ones tight hugs.
