Camping

Tomorrow we will be driving down to Pinnacles National Park to go camping. We both love to be in the outdoors, but have not made the time to really take time off to enjoy camping more than a couple of times since we were married in 2007.

It’s really a great way for us both to reset, to be detached and unplugged from all the networks around us. We’ll leave the phones in the car—turned off—and not think about them for at least a couple of days. And once we’ve slept on roots, in the cold, and struggled to make coffee amid swearing at the draft in the tent the next morning, we’ll be refreshed. I will readily trade sitting on my butt and the eye-strain of staring at one screen or another all day for dirt and sweat and the smells of nature.

I look forward to a mind refreshed, even if it’s only for a little while.
